10/3/2012- Votacall VoIP – Boston, Massachusetts- Video Conferencing has a major positive impact in a college students life. For some students, being away from home for an extended period of time can be tough and sad. With face to face communications, the student has the ability to see her loved ones, ranging from grandfather to mother and sister. All ages can use the systems and can operate them on their own. Talking on the phone is one thing, but being able to see your families face inside your home is tremendous; you might even get to see your dog barking in the background.

This is not the only benefit for colleges and their students with Video Conferencing and Unified Communications. Not every college has unique classes such as Mandarin Chinese or law school classes. With the help of video conferencing, some students can take an online class via this technology. This allows them to see the teachers face and possibly the other students in the class, along with the information posted on the white board or computer screen. Any school that had this technology would have an advantage over another. Simply by being able to offer more diverse classes to students if there's a desire. For example, I took Chinese for 3 years, one in high school and 2 in college. In high school we had a teacher who was fluent and taught the class well. But whenever we needed a substitute, the video conferencing technology was turned on and we had a first hand view into a classroom of another local school offering the same class.

This technology allows for an incredible type of communication, the possibilities almost seem endless. You can see anyone face to face, even if they are on another continent. In addition, you can collaborate with each other, whether its between fellow employees, customers or other educational institutions. The overal point is simple, Video Conferencing technology is allowing people to interact and communicate better than ever before, never having to worry about not picking up on what they mean because of the face to face aspect.
