This weekend my alarm clock went off at 5:30 in the morning with the sounds of "DADDY, DADDY, DADDY, DADDY, DADDY" ringing in my ears. This alarm clock is 38 inches tall and has no snooze option, time to start my day. My daughter and I went downstairs, grabbed some juice and went into the family room to watch TV. She asked if we could watch some Pixar movie and being that I was still half asleep, I pressed the on-demand button on my cable remote, accessed the premium channel section, clicked on the desired title and as part of my service package, we were watching the movie. At that moment, it made me realize the omnipresence of the Cloud. When I was kid, my favorite movie was Jaws, without question. I would beg and plead with my parents to take me to the video store to rent Jaws. I am a creature of habit, so I would rent the movie, inevitably keep it past the due date, my parents would pay the late fees upon return and it would all start over a week or so later. This lasted on and off for a year plus. In a years time, my parents must have spent $200 on renting that movie. My parents eventually bought me a VHS copy of the movie ($40.00) which was great until I was transporting it to my friends house via my Hutch dirt bike and dropped it. I eventually got another copy ($40.00) which was eaten alive by my VHS player. That was it, it was time to go back to renting. Today, when you want to watch something, it can be accessed in multiple ways without leaving the couch or spending ridiculous amounts of money to view it. I guess that is why Blockbuster has had problems. In any event, this is the principle of the Cloud on full display. When you want something, you efficiently and affordably access it without the burden of maintaining it. It took all of 15 seconds to provide the desired service to my daughter. I did not have to get in the car, deal with a tantrum or worry about the return of the movie/the late fees (I just could never handle returning a movie on time). The Cloud provides the on-demand technology to keep an organization functioning efficiently both from a production and financial standpoint. The Votacall Cloud Product Suite provides this advanced on-demand accessibility to communication tools for businesses. It is the on-demand button for the forward thinking organization. The moral of the story is, if you want to keep your daughter from having a meltdown (I mean keep employees functioning at their optimum level), take a look at Votacall and the Cloud. It is a game changer.
