The Cloud & Hosted VoIP leave the door open for the next Game Changing Feature

4/6/12 - Votacall Hosted VoIP - Boston, Massachusetts - I have been in telecom for many years, but it was not until the wide acceptance of the term "The Cloud" and it'soffspring "Hosted VoIP" that customer meetings and interactions truly became consultative. With Hosted VoIP or any Cloud Technology, you are not selling a box, server or major manufacturer, you are selling a service that promises to keep the door open to future technologies while protecting the initial investment. We talk about and use teh word collaboration, but consider this, the real collaboration is in a providers Cloud or Hosted VoIP offer. Again, it is not about hardware or manufacturer, it is about the idea that the best offers layer applications before they are even relevant from diverse partners and developers. It is that openess and ability for top tier forward thinking minds to collaborate and influence an offer that the customer truly benefits from. With the Cloud and Hosted VoIP, the customer is not bound by the arrogance of a giant, stiff and slow to react manufacturer that is quick to say how you can and cannot communicate. This mindset will be a killer of telco companies because people expect more, expect it now and do not want to be told what they can and cant do. Example, I can do a video call from my iPhone to my wife's iPhone or MAC while I am traveling or when I have downtime during the day. I now expect that level of technology (video) to be in my business tool box. 1 year ago, Video was not an expectation, it was a nice to have...the key is looking at the current landscape of "nice to have" features to anticipate the trends and act on it. That is a power the Cloud and Hosted VoIP can deliver and another reason why the legacy world on-premise world is in serious trouble. At the end of the day, it is now about the customer communication experience, therefore technology must leave a door open at all times for the next "must have" feature. Customers expect it.

Think Big, Go Votacall!
