Mobility, mobility, mobility...everyone is talking mobility, but to truly talk about mobility it must be defined as it means different things to different people. Some view call forwarding as mobility, others see Voice Mail to Email as mobility. There are many different features and applications that can be defined as mobility, but when combining all of the best of breed apps into one solution, that is Unified Communications (UC). Now, if we are going to discuss UC, the Cloud must be the underlying topic. Mobility and UC by nature translate into flexibility and the only future proof solution with a mountain of features resides in the Cloud. The question then becomes, what Cloud Solution? This is where the differentiators come into play and Votacall's key differentiator is our desire to layer the platform with next generation apps and not be a vanilla provider. Sticking with the ice cream analogy, our mission is to have our own Ben and Jerrys flavor similar to Cherry Garcia or Chubby Hubby. The flavor would have layers starting with Vanilla oozing into a deep chocolate, dripping down into caramel with a marshmallow and graham cracker foundation. We can't stop there as those are just the building blocks. Mixed in at all levels are the individual treats such as Gummy bears, M & M's, Peanut Butter Cups and Pretzles. As new candy hits the market, we pick the best ones to add to brand. We could call it Cloudy or Cloudy with TCO...I will have to talk to the marketing people, but the point is, choose a provider that is progressive and forward thinking. UC adoption will be on CIO's calendars soon and without the right Cloud Provider backing the solution, adding to the solution, managing the solution...there is no true UC strategy. A true UC strategy is ongoing, a living, breathing thing. One Number, One Mailbox for every form of communication known to man today and what will be developed tomorrow. Listen, I can't speculate what the next great candy or chocolate product will be, but when it hits the market, you can bet that Votacall will add it to their Cloudy TCO ice cream. Again, we are not sold on the name, but we at Votacall are working on it.
