Cloud Computing has created such a buzz that almost every large technology company is focusing on it. For example, today Barnes & Noble announced the creation of a new reading Cloud-based platform called the Nook for the web. This was a delayed response to Amazons release of the Kindle Cloud Reader (launched about a year ago). These companies constantly try and develop the new hit product with the hope of staying ahead of its competition. The same strategies come to play throughout the Cloud Computing industry. Google launched their Google Apps for Business, which has been luring companies away from the on-premise email and Office Applications. To counter this new product, Microsoft designed Office 365. This product is their first subscription cloud service which replaces its standard Business Productivity Online Standard Suite (BPOS). Googles App has the promise of better collaboration, less cost, and less headaches. In order to compete with these bonuses, Microsoft decided to adopt the new Cloud Computing idea with a subscription based Cloud service. The product is not the only competitive issue, price remains a key when a customer decide which one to purchase. Reports are that Microsoft will have a low subscription cost because Googles App for Business is basically free unless you want to pay for the Pro package. This competition can also be seen throughout the telecom industry. Companies such as Votacall continue to research, develop and procure the best Unified Communication products in order to retain and ultimately grow market share. The use of Video teleconferencing is critical these days because of the high price of travel and the expansion of business around the globe.
