3/11/2013- Votacall Hosted VoIP - Boston, Massachusetts- There are rumors spreading that Oracle's next move is going to be acquiring Broadsoft. The rumors are in reaction to their recent acquisition of Unified Communication and Hosted VoIP company, Acme Packet; along with Microsoft's success with Lync and SharePoint. Broadsoft has a very close connection with Acme Packet because their products work hand in hand and they entered the VoIP and UC around the same. Oracle has the cash to make another key move and this could be a promising one.

If they were to make this acquisition, Oracle would immediately jump into one of the leading UC/VoIP positions in the industry. This might be where the company is trying to head, owner Larry Ellison is a very smart man who generally makes good strategical decisions. The plan to buy Acme Packet and start focusing on the UC market should work out well for them because it continues to grow year over year. As fortune magazine says, "Larry Ellison is trying to make Oracle the Microsoft of the internet".

Oracle was already a massive company before the Acme Packet acquisition. But this deal makes it an even larger internet power because its now able to incorporate a huge side of the internet telecom trend. They want to battle with Microsoft and its moves to the software internet service capable of delivering UC capabilities. Its the leading trend among all communication facets and is gaining more user everyday.

The industry is going to be even bigger in several years, hence why Mr. Ellison wants to become a super-power within it. If Oracle could complete another deal to absorbed and purchase Broadsoft, they would become the leader in the industry. Between Acme Packet and Broadsoft, Oracle would gain a ton of insight and knowledge. When they combine that with their own internet prowess, they would be set up to be very successful within the UC and VoIP market.
